Held a meeting with Public Works,  Regional National Construction Authority and County Attorney on 3rd May 2024Co-Chaired the meeting  on 6th May 2024 with CECM- Roads/Transport/Public Works and  Housing on building safety and compliance. The meeting was attended by respective COs,   all Sub County Administrators and  the Ward  Administrators  and  all the technical staff. The meeting formed surveillance teams for all 5 sub counties to map and document data on ongoing construction, stalled construction,  incomplete and occupied buildings. Report to be submitted on 10/05/2024. We have visited three sites within Kutus Town which had buildings with architectural issues, whereby we have issued stoppage notices for further investigations. Jointly with Public Works department, we   enforced demolition  of illegal structures  adjacent to Terras Villa and arrested for arraignment of non-compliant developer adjust to Bigwa Sacco building Kutus .At 5.00 pm   on 7th May 2024,  a notice of evacuation by  13 families   from Kutus Plot No.145 owned by one Samuel Muchiri Muiga , the building was  declared  UNSAFE for continued occupation , notice was served for immediate  vacation  to  pave way for proper assessment and rehabilitation of structure. We have identified 93 buildings for enforcement for compliance  from Monday 6th May  to  Thursday  9th May  2024.Rolling out of the enforcement  including   approval of building plans, integrity tests, adjustments, prosecution and demolition of unsafe buildings. Held a  consultative meeting with the DCI Kirinyaga Central in preparation  of Criminal Charges against the contractor whose illegal building  collapsed at Karia  area on 1/5/2024Flagging of non-compliant  developers for purpose  of either regularization  or prosecution  depending with  outcome of on-going  structural audit  report. Enforcement of notices for compliance  on-going on 24/6/2024 Collation of data collected during the building inspection visit held last week.
